Chapter 573: Chapter 573 - Unleashing the Grim Reaper’s Flame
Chapter 573: Chapter 573 - Unleashing the Grim Reaper’s Flame
Alora stood shoulder to shoulder with Broken, both of them gripping their weapons firmly. Alora held the Cragstorm Sword, the Legendary-grade blade that Broken had crafted for her, while he wielded his trusted Legendary-grade Wavebreaker Spear.
Each of them wore the Invincible Paragon armor set, their matching armor making them look like a perfectly united pair of warriors. Broken's armor gleamed in shades of black with touches of blue, while Alora's was patterned with black and fiery red.
"Level 255..." Alora muttered under her breath. "Your first wife is this furious, what exactly did you do, Broken?"
"Very funny, Princess," he replied.
"So, how did it feel to kiss a Faery as cute as her?"
"I didn't kiss her."
"I saw it."
"Saw what?"
"You leaned in close. Don't deny it."
"Nothing happened," he insisted. "The kiss didn't happen."
"So you're saying you planned to kiss her, then?"
"I refuse to answer that."
"Well," Alora said, stifling a grin, "I think she's mad because you didn't kiss her."
"Are you suggesting that if I had kissed her, she wouldn't have transformed into Eternal Flame?"
"Who knows?" Alora shrugged, gripping her sword a little tighter. "Too late now. We'd better end this as quickly as possible. I've got a feeling she's going to be one of the toughest enemies we've ever faced. And with that level and aura... I'm not sure if the two of us can handle her alone."
"Agree."
"So, do you have any plan on how we're supposed to kill her?"
"I'm afraid not, Princess. I'm not exactly the strategic type. I mostly rely on brute force." He shrugged. "Sorry to disappoint."
"Nah," she grinned, "I know you're good at a lot of things, just not words, apparently."
"Oh, that's my favorite kind of compliment, Princess," he replied with a smirk.
Then Broken remembered he'd actually gotten something after defeating Morel. A Legendary-grade item, if he recalled correctly. A bracelet, in fact.
"Let's take a quick look at that."
[Abyssal Shatter Cuff]
[Grade: Legendary]
[Constitution +200]
[Durability: 89/100]
[Weight: 56]
[The Abyssal Shatter Cuff is a dark, enigmatic bracelet forged from a rare alloy of obsidian and enchanted silver, with faint glowing runes etched around its circumference. Known as a weapon of last resort. Only those with an unbreakable will can master its power, as the bracelet channels the wearer's own vitality into a final, cataclysmic act.] [Skills:]
[Self-Destruction: Abyssal Reckoning (Active Skill)
Effect: Upon activation, the bracelet consumes 99% of the wearer's current Health and releases it as an explosive wave of destructive energy.
All enemies within a 25-meter radius receive damage equal to 500% of the wearer's total Health.
Cooldown: 24 hours.
Activation Requirement: Can only be activated when Health is below 50% but above 10%.] [User Restriction: 1000 Constitution]
Oh, so this was the bracelet Morel had used for his self-destruction. Definitely a useful skill for mass destruction, though Broken wouldn't be using that skill anytime soon. Still, the +200 Constitution bonus was incredible, and he quickly equipped it.
"Oh, almost forgot to mention," he said, "I unlocked a new skill. After securing the bond with Elaine, I can now transform into Eternal Flame form."
He then gave Alora a quick rundown of his new abilities.
Alora raised an eyebrow. "You said the Eternal Flame form reflects a person's soul, right? So... deep down, you're actually an executor, Broken? That's... kind of adorable."
"Thanks for the compliment, Princess," he replied with a slight smile.
Meanwhile, Elaine seemed to be gathering her strength, her aura intensifying with clear intent to attack.
"This is it!"
Elaine charged toward them, running on her feet, while the five spider legs protruding from her back flexed, clearly ready to strike. They looked almost like weapons, similar to Spiderman's Iron Spider suit?
"Princess, stay back and look for an opening. I'll take her head-to-head," he said, tightening his grip on his spear and bracing for impact.
[Flowing Tide Cape]
The blue cape draped over Broken's shoulders glowed brightly, contrasting with the fiery colors blazing around the area.
[Water Domain (Active Skill)]
Gripping his spear, Broken readied himself to face Elaine and her lethal spider legs. With the spear's longer reach, he managed to fend off some of her initial strikes, each thrust and slash a desperate attempt to keep her at bay.
[Oceanic Blessing (Passive Skill)]
A soft blue aura wrapped around him, amplifying his control over the battle.
He swung his spear with all his might, blocking Elaine's relentless assault, but it was clear he was struggling to keep up. Her movements were relentless, and soon, she started
overwhelming him.
Alora darted in from a different angle, moving fast to get in a quick strike. But Elaine countered in an instant, swatting Alora back with one of her spider legs and sending her
crashing to the ground.
"Damn!" Broken gritted his teeth.
The cramped area left them little room to maneuver, and one misstep could easily send them tumbling into the magma below.
"This is exactly the kind of situation where I wish Ivana was here..." he muttered.
[Sea of Storms (Active Skill)]
Dozens of water spears materialized above, raining down on Elaine the moment they entered his water domain. But Elaine's speed and precision were staggering. She twisted and dodged, slicing through each spear with terrifying ease.
"Damn, Elaine... I think we're going to need more backup if we want to stand a chance against
her!"
Broken struggled to fend off Elaine's relentless attacks with his spear, while Alora darted around, looking for an opening to strike. Every so often, Alora managed to land a hit, only for Elaine to block her with one of her spider legs, deflecting her blade.
Frustration mounting, Broken made his decision.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"I'm going to try my Eternal Flame form!"
[Eternal Flame - Grim Reaper (Conditional Active Skill)]
A dark wave of energy erupted from his body, shadowy tendrils swirling around him and mingling with the blazing heat of the volcanic chamber. The energy wrapped around him like
a tattered robe, forming a hood that cast his face into shadow, obscuring his features
completely.
In that instant, he had transformed into his Eternal Flame - Grim Reaper form.
This skill could only be activated under the presence of moonlight, but as long as he remained within its luminous rays, he could unleash its full potential.
"A 30% boost to movement speed and 20% increase in attack speed. I couldn't have asked for
a better skill!"
Alora's eyes widened as she took in his transformed appearance.
"That's so sick, Broken! You look even more like a villain than Elaine," Alora said with a grin. "Now let's see if you can actually do something with that cool outfit!"
Now moving with incredible speed and precision, Broken closed in on Elaine, his movements sharp and fluid. With his newfound agility, he managed to fend off five pairs of Elaine's spider
legs in a single strike.
[Enchanted Raven Helm]
As he engaged, Broken equipped his latest piece of gear-the Enchanted Raven Helm. The one
The got from the Crow Guardian.
The helm transformed his head into the sleek, dark likeness of a black crow. It granted him a 20% chance to perform a short teleport when attacked, giving him a crucial edge against Elaine's relentless strikes, allowing him to evade with split-second precision. With these two new upgrades, could he actually make a difference in this fight?
